.Iconic Gay Dive in Santa Rosa Bites the Dust

&#;The Stained is DEAD.&#; That&#;s what the owner of iconic Santa Rosa dive bar The Dirty along Mendocino Avenue neighboring College — better known as Dirty Wings and formerly named Round Robin, one of the county&#;s first local gay bars — wrote in a message to followers earlier this month. &#;There has been some very unfortunate circumstances that we just can’t move past and we will be closing March 1. So make sure to come in show the staff some love, build some last memories [and say your] goodbyes for the whole month of February.&#; They&#;re even hosting an official funeral from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. this Sunday, and will be selling off &#;all of the decor and weird items from The Dirty&#; at a massive liquidation sale all weekend, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Bar owner Cody Brown, who also co-owns Crooks Coffee, tells the Urge Democrat that he&#;s closing The Messy &#;due to legal battles with his landlord and business partners.&#; Here&#;s some more colorful bar history from the PD, to combine to your nostalgia tri

Dick Boyd recounts the Gay and Lesbian scene in North Beach during the s and 50s. He opens the article with his own personal account of going to lesbian bars on Broadway Street as a teenager in the overdue s and ahead s. Renegades Bar is the south bay gay bar at which to chill out and like a relaxing age with friends. Unlike many clubs in the city, Renegades is not a nightclub, and many night patrons can be found kicking back and enjoying drinks without the pressure to gyrate. Staff and patrons are friendly to all, and there is a monthly drag show, as well as a men's-only underwear illustrate. For those post-drinking munchies, locals rave about the Tacomania truck just across the street from Renegades.
