Whilst known as Barcelona’s only nudist beach, Mar Bella attracts as many gay sunbathers who favor to keep that tackle undercover as those who are happy to allow it all suspend out.  This is usually the most popular ‘gay’ beach but it is also the furthest from the urban area centre.

Located right next to Mar Bella beach is &#;El Chiringay de la Mar Bella&#;, an iconic bar & restaurant has become internationally renowned as the focal point of gay beach life in Barcelona. The restaurant offers a decent range of light dishes, salads, hot baguettes and a selection of more substantial main dishes.  The bar offers a fantastic choice of cocktails, protein shakes and juices.  During the evening, the bar plays host to many events throughout the summer months.

How to get there

Barcelona is widely known as one of the most gay-friendly cities in Europe, attracting tens of thousands of LGBT tourists every year. Given its coastal location and year-round climate, its hardly surprising that out of 4km of beaches, more than one has become known as ‘Barcelonas gay beach.’

In proof, both gay locals and tourists to Barcelona are spoilt for choice. Barcelona has no less than 3 gay beaches (with one being very prolonged and technically three in one!). El Chiringuito de la Mar Bella caters for the city&#;s large gay community and, of course, gay visitors.

Its location on this part of the beach couldn&#;t be better, clearly targeted towards a more gay clientele, but in Barcelona sexuality is not something people consider out of the average and where the mix is often even.

Located right next to the nudist beach of Mar Bella is one of the most charismatic bars around the coast of Barcelona and the only openly gay environment: The Chiringuito de la Mar Bella. Also known as &#;Chiringay&#;, the place has come to be in its possess right a benchmark, not only of the local gay scene but also internationally. Thus, during the summer months, there are many tourists from around the world.

It is not the adj service in the world, rather lethargic and un-attentive, but the prices and food is decent and makes for a good verb from the star when you can get a seat.

At night El Chiringuito de la Mar Bella was a good local place to go for drinks on the beach and under the stars.
