San diego gay pride 2024


Colorful floats will soon glide through Hillcrest as part of the San Diego Pride Parade -- a time-honored tradition in America's Finest City that honors the LGBTQ+ community.

LGBTQ+ members will be joined by allies to march along the route uptown in honor of their continued contact for equity and acceptance. Those who are planning on showing their aid by attending the parade can reflect on the following to plan their trip:

When is the parade?

The San Diego Pride Parade will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, with this year's theme being "Making History Now."

Folks can assume the event to be held rain or shine, according to the nonprofit organization San Diego LGBT Pride.

Where to park

Pride organizers are making it easier for participants to arrive by wagon. Free parking will be available at the Old Naval Hospital on Park Boulevard and President’s Way. Once there, visitors can grab a free shuttle that will slip off passengers at the intersection of Richmond and Essex Streets.

The shuttle service will be accessible as follows:

    Note: Traveling as an LGBTQ+ person always carries a certain degree of risk. It is our reality as we navigate a world with 60+ countries criminalizing our relationships and a rise in anti-LGBTQ+ legislation around the world. We encourage our traveling community to realize the laws and cultural challenges they may face in any destination they prefer to visit for Pride and beyond.     The LGBTQ+ rights movement has made tremendous strides over the past few decades and much of the progress in visibility is thanks in part to gay pride parades and marches that have taken place in cities around the world.
