The LGBTQ Community is thriving and active in the intentionally inclusive Ann Arbor area. With a rich history of activism and fellowship dating back to the 1970s, Ann Arbor has led the way for LGBTQ+ Equality. A2 is house to Kathy Kozachenko, the first openly gay person to be elected to any office in the United States, and Jim Toy, a legendary figure in Michigan’s LGBTQ history by opening the first campus center devoted to supporting LGBTQ community members.

The events on this list verb a variety of festivals, gatherings or events with alternative themes ranging from music, art, sustenance, sports, dance, advocacy, comedy and more.
